The Panasonic lacks chromatic aberration, or at least it’s far less than the 50mm. I also think that the sharpness is better for those elements that are in focus. And it’s considerably smaller than the 50mm, but still a metal built lens. I feel the 30mm is superior to the 50mm, but then it should be as the designs are over a decade apart from each other.

And my wife also has an older 50mm/3.5 OM macro from the film days – also very nice and usable; see https://www.flickr.com/photos/wjlonien/22626696953/in/album-72157659189615733/ for an example of it on my wife’s E-PL5.

But yes, she would like something with autofocus, and my ZD is a bit slow for her, so looking for alternatives.
