The cynical part of me says, “Yeah, they turned on the BS infraction switch to keep me from earning anything higher in the future.” And I’m quite happy to have dropped “that spy app.” That’s all it is.

And this is the same type of tech we are supposed to allow to drive cars on its own.
Another possibility is that the insurance company looked at your record, saw you were a good driver, then made up a bunch of infractions so they don’t have to give you a discount.
Hey, I have to deal with ICBC; the Crown Corporation insurance company that gives you no choice but to pay, pay, pay. I have their biggest discount thanks to decades of zero-infraction driving, and we still shell out more than if we were in any other province. This is why ICBC’s finances were referred to as “a dumpster fire”. It has been used as a money-making political football for years. At least you have a choice. I think you did right by dropping that spy app, for whatever reason it was reporting such errors.
