No, actually. What the Pharisees and the Sadducees were and what they believed in have been distorted by two millennia of history.. There were some Pharisees who believed in Christ at the time He was alive. For example Joseph of Arimathea was both a disciple of Christ and a Pharisee.

If I had to make a judgement call, it would be that today’s nationalist Christians are Philistines, not modern equivalents of Pharisees.
