it’s the last caturday of 2023

Here we are at the end of another year, and the last Caturday of 2023. It’s been cold and rainy for the past few weeks, and this morning it dropped down to the mid-40s (F) at night, with the high today just touching 60°F. The cats that ventured out onto the lanai reacted as they always do, by scrooching into hairy little footballs to stay warm. The dog beds were left out, and they zeroed in on them so they wouldn’t have to lie on the cold concrete surface of the lanai.

That’s Danï in the front and Joan Jet in the back.

Photo was taken with the Olympus EM1.2 and the PRO 40-150mm. Funny thing is that the zoom was at 85mm, which is just a little longer than my fixed focal length 75mm. I stopped down to f/4 to make sure Danï was fully in focus, but still putting the background out of focus.

monday with joan

Different days, different locations, different lighting. Joan is now the smallest of the six, since all the kittens (her two and Nicholas) have grown up and out. But she’s not concerned, and fits in just fine with everybody else. After two weeks of feline herpesvirus with sniffles and sneezes, and a trip to the vets with one of them because he was breathing through his mouth he was so congested, we’re all happily back to normal. And I hope to keep them that way with doses L-lysine all around.
