first march caturday

We start the month of March off with Danï outside enjoying the cool spring weather. And of course, she’s resting on the rather dirty outdoor furniture cushion covering which I’ll be stripping off those cushions and washing this weekend. All the cats like to lounge on the outdoor furniture and watch what’s happening outside the screen covering the lanai. So far none of the cats has ever attempted to run outside, although Danï will walk right up to the open door to look out. That’s when I’m most on alert to make sure there’s no break for freedom. But she never seems to want to cross that threshold.

And our own Ruby Tuesday, who is resting in the kitchen and waiting for something special to drop from the kitchen counter and onto the floor for her to clean up. Ruby is now over 15 1/2 years old this month; her birthday was 23 August 2008. I checked back with the woman who bred her, and Ruby is the last living member of her litter. She’s still active and leads on walks with Annie and myself. I hope she makes it in good shape to her 16th birthday this year.

groundhog caturday

Winter in Orlando has been unusually cool so far, except for the past few days. The temperatures are more in line with what you’d expect for central Florida in February, with lows in the upper 40s at night and highs in the low 70s during the day. And when it gets that comfortable the clowder likes come out to rest all over the furniture on the lanai. Today turned out to be almost a perfect day for exploring the coming of the new year.

Once again I’ve turned to the Olympus OM1.2 and the M.Zuiko 12-40mm/2.8 PRO. It’s a powerful, quick photographic combination.
