trees — my photo notebook

While out today I came across this view next to a small parking lot. The curvature of the lawn, the framing of trees all around, the detail and contrast. Somehow it reminds me of an ink block illustration from my childhood, but I can’t recall specifically what.

Sometimes when you’re out and about the mundane is organized into patterns that somehow catch your eye. That’s when I pull out the only camera I have with me, my iPhone 11, and snap away. I try to be honest by using the photo straight-out-of-the-camera (SooC), but this time I decided to tinker a bit with the image attributes to enhance the image. All to my personal tastes, of course.

Sometimes a change of perspective invites a look as well as a photo opportunity. If you’re wondering why this second image appears warmer than the top, that’s because the second is out of direct sunlight and being heavily illuminated by sunlight reflected from the side of the building which is built from brick.

In bright outdoor daylight contemporary smartphone cameras can produce acceptable technical results.
