My fellow Americans, our long national nightmare is over.

I waited before posting this, just to savor the moments. Pretty soon we’re all going to have to roll up our sleeves and get to work repairing all the damage that’s been done over the last four years.

Here are some captures of the headlines that pretty much sum up how I currently feel.

If you’re curious about the headline, it’s from Gerald Ford when he was sworn in as President after Nixon resigned. You can read Ford’s entire speech here: https://www.fordlibrarymuseum.gov/library/speeches/740001.asp . I thought it appropriate, considering that we haven’t had a Republican president this bad since Nixon.

And of course, our current child in chief is throwing a Twitter and Facebook temper tantrum, proclaiming he won this election “by a lot.”
No Donny-boy, you did not. You really tried to cheat by getting your base to slam the polling stations on election day, and they trying to shut down the counting of all mail-in ballots that you knew were heavily Democratic. The only way you know to win is by cheating. It didn’t work this time. Oh, and by grossly mis-managing what you, as president, should have managed properly.

  1. Unfortunately the world is in for weeks of Trumper-tantrums and quite likely violence in the USA before he is officially gone. I would not be surprised if he has to be physically removed from the White House, such is his nature.
Afterward he will rant on, and his half-witted fans will continue to cause trouble. There is not a chance that he will go gentle into that good night, but will rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Mr. Biden has his work cut out for him.

    • We all have our work cut out for us. If we wait for just Biden to solve these problems, then we’re all going to fail. Now more than ever it’s country over politics, country first. Out most immediate pressing problem is the US coronavirus infections are hitting new records on a daily basis. And it just goes from there.

      • That’s the truth of it for sure. We have recommendations here that kept things under control – until people got sick of following them. Now it’s rampant again. But no place near the 3% of total population infection rate your country has – the worst in the world.
Getting people to comply with the rules that save lives will be the most difficult task ahead for you all.
