bo in his favorite chair

It’s been a while, too long really, since I posted any photos of my cats. That’s because I’ve been in a photography slump, a slump that started last year. I own some of the best micro four third cameras every made, along with some very excellent lenses, yet they sit unused either in my cabinet or in their respective camera bag. Starting this week I pulled out two bodies and configured them for use; the Olympus Pen F with the Panasonic Leica 25mm and the Panasonic G9 with the Lumix 30mm macro. The Pen F has been for grab shots with the animals (like the one above) while the G9 has been used around the yard for photographing some of the blooming plants in the garden.

Today’s photo is Bo-Man in his chair. It was my chair until Bo claimed it, since there are other chairs around the house for me to use. Fair enough. As you can see, Bo is suspicious of the human with the camera, as he feels its an excuse to chase him out and loose his precious spot on the chair.

The pandemic with its travel restrictions makes going out and photographing tough to do these days, so I’m limited to photographing around the house. When photographing cats you have to be careful approaching them, else they soon learn to recognize the camera and run. That makes photographing them even harder. But then I do have some short teles if and when that occurs. More opportunities to practice cat photography.
