things you see at a costco

Another shopping Friday at my local Costco. Here we all are, 5 July, the day after the Fourth. And what do my wondering eyes behold but children’s Halloween costumes. I can at least make out (left to right) firemen, astronauts, princess, and fairy costumes. They’re all very gender specific, but I wonder what would happen if the boys dressed up as princesses and fairies while the girls dressed as firemen and astronauts. And then went trick-or-treating through one of our local Maga neighborhoods. Halloween falls on a Thursday this year, still enough time for many of these Christian Nationalist pastors to whip up a righteous fire and brimstone sermon for the faithful about all that’s wrong with today’s society, because look at what the kids did on Halloween. Which is already looked upon with disdain anyway due to its Satanic influences.

Halloween costumes in early July. Yet another example of late stage capitalism.
