I’ve been waiting for this day, these moments, for over four years, ever since 45 managed to finagle his way into the presidency. It’s been a long continuous dumpster fire. Today was the day. I watched early in the morning as 45 slunk out of Washington on Marine 1, then watched him with the volume turned down to 0 as he gave his little speech of lies before boarding Air Force 1 and flying down to south Florida.
Once out of site, all attention was on the festivities of swearing in Biden as the 46th President of the United States. And tracking other news items being published in real time over his becoming the official President of the United States. Here are a few captures from my iPhone.
Good actions have already started to flow out of the new President and his staff. I could count them all off, but I need to wait for a later time to let this sink in a bit. I am exhausted at the moment, mentally and physically. I’m elated that Biden is the new President, but in a state of mourning that the ex-president is going to live down in south Florida.
What’s that sound? It’s the whole world breathing a sigh of relief.
