I went off into the “wilderness” to sulk, thinking that if I left this all behind, that nothing could affect me. I would find happiness in being alone off in a corner somewhere. If I could ignore all things Trump it wouldn’t bother me. Unfortunately there’s no way to ignore Trump.

Whether it’s the right led by Fox News, or all the “left” news organizations like the Washington Post, CNN, The New York Times, and so many others, Trump is everywhere. And not just here in the US, but overseas as foreign news; I even run into Trump’s antics in the BBC, for example.

You can’t ignore that idiot anymore than you can get rid of him. Micheal Moore and his kind, who predicted that Trump would resign soon after being elected (he who predicted Trump would be elected) is as wrong as all those who swore that Trump couldn’t win the election. And here’s why: Whoever has been behind Trump’s election won’t let him simply walk away, I’m sure of that. He got into this for the money, and there’s a huge payout for him at the end of all this he’s absolutely unwilling to give up. I don’t know what it is, but whatever it is, it’s yuge.

And then there’s the environment that got him elected. Trump won nearly 63 million votes to Hillary Clinton’s 66 million, and yes, Hillary won the popular vote by nearly 3 million, the widest margin for a presidential candidate who didn’t win the electoral college vote. So even if you got rid of Trump, there are 63 million asshole voters who directly helped put him in office. What are we to do with all of them? And what about those millions who didn’t vote at all because they didn’t like either candidate? Or those on the far left, like Susan Sarandon, who went off to “protest” vote for candidates that didn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning, like Jill Stein of the Green Party?

I’m back, not to go after Trump or his minions, but to counter with practical yet positive writing. I’ve finally learned the hard way that negative news as practiced by Fox and Friends (and I’m also including you, Liberal Media) is corrosive to civil society. We’ve been living in negative destructive news for as far back as I can recall, all the way back to Nixon’s tour in the White House. Through all those years as a young adult, I’ve participated in spreading it, reveled in its impact on my perceived enemies (tribalism at its finest) and then when it effected me negatively, had the gall to get upset and walk away. Life doesn’t work that way. So I’m back to work as hard as possible to counter as best as possible the environment that birthed and nourished Trump and people like him these many decades.

I helped get us all into this mess, I can certainly help to get us back out.
