I installed Alpine Linux 3.16.2 as a VM on my Linux Mint box. It’s a remarkably light distribution. I had no problems installing the base operating system, nor did I have any problems adding, configuring and starting the Xfce desktop. I’ve been looking for an alternative to Debian for some of my Raspberry Pi machines. Whether Alpine is that alternative remains to be seen. But standing up an instance as a VM to begin checking it out is very encouraging.
