Today was another day of preparation. I had an arborist, A-1 Arborists (https://www.a1arboriststreesvcs.com/), come in and trim out all my trees, especially the big live oak that overhangs the house. The crown had grown too low and too close to the roof to suite me, and with Dorian approaching I wanted it lifted and cleared a bit. I had other trees in my yard trimmed as well, but the live oak was my chief concern. It has been growing in my yard for nearly 30 years and it’s survived every hurricane that’s passed through. I’d like to keep it around as long as possible.

I’d rather pay someone now to come and trim up my trees than have them come in after into a really big mess. Not only do I have a responsibility to keep everything as healthy as possible, I’m also concerned about damage to my neighbors. So I try to keep it all cleaned up as well as possible.
